"Can IMAP inbox messages automatically be moved to the local Inbox?"

Questor

I like the new support for Outlook. Thank you very much. This was the first year that I did not spend >16 hours rebuilding accounts each January. It is also nice that this support automatically transfered incoming emails to the Local Inbox.

Just recently, Spectrum Internet dropped POP3 support and I was able to setup IMAP.

Gee, It would be nice if there was just one more checkbox in the Account Setup which would automatically transfer IMAP messages to the Local Inbox.

Can this be added to the wish list?

Thunderbird has a feedback and Ideas link on it's help menu. Along with a link to this forum as "Get Help"

The Microsoft thing is special, Hence we have support articles with a year in the title. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202

Everyone else calls it oAuth 2.0 and follows a defined standard. Microsoft included it in what they called modern authentication but it added Microsoft specific bits.

But honestly what is wrong with the unified inbox in Thunderbird? Instead of some transfer arrangement to an "inbox" Personally I do not use or like the unified view of accounts, but it appears to have a lot of adherents and it is the default. What else are you trying to achieve that you have not enunciated..

I have zero clue what the "new support for outlook is" but I do wonder if it is yet another Microsoft sleight of hand thing, similar to Thunderbird's unified inbox. That is nothing actually moves it is just displayed somewhere else as a result of a search.

There are so many different Forums, perhaps you could suggest a better forum to place my request for the additional Configuration Option switch/code to transfer IMAP Inbox messages to the Local Inbox.

FYI - Owl (Beonex GmbH) was a paid Thunderbird extension that provided 2-factor ID support for MS Outl**k, but is now implemented in TB. Owl was good, but MS kept changing each year. Very Bad Indy...
