I powered up my MacBook the other day, and Firefox updated. Then, suddenly, all my bookmarks and history were gone. I have tried the "about:Profiles" and nothing is there. I have read here that many with OS have encountered the same issue.

What is the fix?

I will add it. In the process, the update removed my extensions and changed my default search engine too.
