I am considering moving to Thunderbird from MS Outlook. I want the rules I have already setup in Outlook to work in Thunderbird. Is this possible & if so how do I make it work.

Hello there

To be able to sync your Outlook account with the mail, you must first point your Outlook account to a pop account setting. You have to choose the options to sync to apply the functions of this to go to the menu of Outlook online and use the dial of this one. Choose the option at the bottom of the menu view all Outlook settings (go to mail)sync email) pop or IMAP.

I think the meaning of the word "rule" needs to be defined. For Outlook, it is when an email is downloaded a rule is applied. For example if the subject heading contains the phrase "SIG Newsletter" then move the email to the "SIG" folder. Another rule could be if the sender is a@b.com then make a copy of the email to the "family" folder. In Outlook the word "Sweep" means the same thing.

The question can be rephrased as... can incoming emails be channelled automatically to specific folders?
