getting a secure mail key into thunderbird
Received a nice email from Matt which I answered with this:
Thank you for your thoughtfulness but I must be missing something. I created the new key, copied it to clipboard and to a piece of paper. I went to Thunderbird and typed the new key in when it asked for a password, checking the box for password manager. I've done it twice to no avail. I can't move anything to type it in the account settings.
More thoughts, please. (A grad school friend used to say , in a rich North Carolina accent, it didn't work because you didn't know how to hold your mouth. So I know there's something I'm missing.)

I suggest not entering it until you request to receive mail. If you're entering it during the setup, it may not be recognized properly.
