So since a couple of weeks I have this problem again.

I am prompted with a master password prompt randomly, not when I'm starting up or loading a page with a saved login.

I watch a Youtube video and 10 minutes in suddenly PASSWORD PROMPT. Super annoying.

And I'm NOT using SYNC.

One phenomenon to notice is during the same time frame, I was greeted with an authentification prompt on startup by a website I had in an inactive tab (I automatically load the last session with only loading the latest tab). But I closed that tab and still have the password manager problem.

I notice that you posted with a Waterfox 56 version, so maybe you should contact Waterfox for support as we no longer support this old version

  • Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0 Waterfox/56.3

You normally get a MP prompt if you are on a web page with a login form and you have saved a login for this website.
It is also possible that you use extensions that could access the Password Manager, but I'm not sure whether this is possible with extensions for Firefox 56.

Hi czxzyyyk

Are you using Firefox Sync?

In order to keep your sync login details secure, you have to unlock your master password before Firefox can synchronise.

thank you and regards,
