Open 100 tabs on Firefox, after 20 minutes of viewing those tabs which open then going back for those that did not takes 20 minutes. On Chrome entire process takes 2 minutes. What 2 do?

Is this about reopening tabs on startup or are you opening all bookmarks in a folder (Open all in tabs) ?

There are 'on_demand' prefs for normal and for pinned tabs to prevent Firefox from opening all tabs at once on startup to speed up starting the Firefox application.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Are you clearing the disk cache when you close Firefox ?

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history":
    [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" -> Settings

Set Firefox to never remember history. That's the closest I could find to your answer. Now seems as fast as was before- Thanks!
