Disable Firefox Sync on a lost phone or tablet
So you've just lost your device (sorry about that) and you realize you've been using Firefox Sync to get all of your usernames and passwords on it. This article describes what you should do to prevent someone from accessing your passwords on your lost device.
First, change your sync password from a synced computer
This first step will prevent your lost phone from connecting to the sync server and getting all of the new passwords that you will have to create in the next section.
Click the Firefox Account icon in the toolbar.
- Click .
- On the Firefox Account page, click next to Password.
- Follow the steps to enter your old and new passwords, then click to finish.
- Click the menu button and choose . .
- Click the tab on the left.
- In the Firefox Account panel, click the Manage Account link.
- On your Firefox Account page, click the button next to Password.
- Enter your old and new passwords in their respective fields and click the button to finish.
- Close the about:preferences page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.
Second, change all of your account passwords from a synced computer
This part is more time consuming but important. If you don't change the passwords for things like your bank account, it would still be possible for someone else to log in to your account on your lost device.
