I get the following rejection when trying to send an email to a specific hotmail accoung when I've attached a small photo. Text email is fine.

Your message wasn't delivered because the recipient's email provider rejected it.

Hi All - I have version 60.5.1 (32 bit). Every time I open the program my 6 email accounts (on the left hand side) collapse, I then have to close the program down and reopen it, the accounts then stay expanded, which is how I like them to be. I think this all started months ago after an update but I am not 100% sure, if it wasn't after an update it was definitely a few months ago. Up until this started happening my email accounts were always expanded on startup. Does anyone have any ideas how to keep my email accounts expanded on startup as it is a bit of a pain having to close and reopen Thunderbird every time I use it. Many Thanks

Most of the time the new mail sound does not play. I think (not 100% sure), that it does not play when a message is filtered moved.

The sound: - plays when I press the "Play" button in the Options-General. - plays when I send myself an e-mail (it is not filtered). - file is a small 46 KB wav file.

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. Lots of memory & storage.

It happens frequently that menu tabs File, Edit, View Message, Help etc become unresponsive and upon clicking on them no sub menu opens to scroll. Once I close thunderbird and restart, problem disappears temporaily only to happen after 15-20 min again. I will greatly appreciate any help/suggestion. Thanks

I tested both 64 and 32 bits versions of TB and 60.2.xx 64 bits Used to work last year (Jan 2018) Also tried with a fresh export from contatcs ; no luck Tried to use CardBook : Woks fine but does not create groups (or could not find).

I've used Thunderbird as client for multiple email addresses for years. Over last weeks I started getting sudden crash and crash report screen after completing an email send (with file attachment). The problem seems now to have worsened - when I pick a file attachment using the file picker - Thunderbird crashes - every time. Strangely, on occasion MS Excel starts up immediately after the crash, or I get a "there's a problem with Office" screen. I have now uninstalled Office and Click-to-Run service - but no improvement. Problem still exists when I start Thunderbird with all add-on disabled. Problem does not exist when I start my windows in safemode (with network).

This is now a serious problem - can't send any attachments for my work!! Help !!

Since a few weeks ago, Thunderbird freezes every now and then after sending emails. I tried restarting Thunderbird in Safe Mode with no success. I removed Thunderbird from my computer, moved my profile folder elsewhere, reinstalled Thunderbird from scratch (thus getting a fresh new profile folder) and I get the same problem.

Some people report that changing the signature file to html solves the problem, but I do not even have a signature file on my fresh new Thunderbird install.

I have 3 accounts (2 Google, 1 imaps). I use my own "Local Folder". That's all that is different from a fresh new install.

Using thunderbird 60.5.1, I have two accounts, a gmail and microsoft exchange account (using exquilla). Often when I switch from the exchange inbox to the gmail inbox I receive the errors: "The folder 'Inbox' cannot be compacted because another operation is in progress. Please try again later." Followed by "The folder 'Sent' cannot be compacted because another operation is in progress. Please try again later." then "The folder 'Trash' cannot be compacted because another operation is in progress. Please try again later." then "The folder 'Junk' cannot be compacted because another operation is in progress. Please try again later."

I can close the alerts, and everything works, but having to close these almost every time I check emails is very annoying. I have archived both inbox and sent folders, and deleted the trash files, so the folders are not large (between 200 to 2500 emails for each folder). I have tried turning off the auto compact config, but no change.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you to help me my nonsense problem which is:

I have Imac 27 with Mojave 10.14.3 OS and Thunderbird 60.5.0 (64 bit) installed just 1-2 days ago but I have to make 2-3 restarts in a working day because suddenly stops working, the iMac ball is rotating and rotating for more than 10 minutes but nothing happens and this is finish and must Thunderbird must be restarted. After it works again 3-4 hours and the same problem comes again.

Can anybody help???

I set a master password for my ThunderBird. At startup of ThunderBird, two or three (mostly three) prompt windows of entering master password come up together. I have to deal with all of them before using ThunderBird.

The problem seems to be long lasting (since Sept 2018, I think) and is cross-distribution (I have this problem on both Manjaro Linux and Arch Linux and both KDE and Deepin DE). Maybe it has been on bugzilla but I failed to find it.

Hello, I have crashing problems with TB since my W10 box updated to 1809.

I have tried Safe Mode and I get no crash. If I disable all plugins and all UI modifications and start in normal mode it STILL crashes.

So I was wondering what may be the cause: are there other differences between "clean" normal mode and safe mode?

Hello, I followed the instructions to "Switch from POP to IMAP account" but I have a some concerns about the result. After activation of the new account, only "Inbox" and "Trash" folders were created on the client. Then I followed the instructions to Subscribe all the missing folders and first time I subscribed all of them. Then I noticed that there were two "Trash" folders, but only one of them was synchronized with the server. So I unsubscribed the Trash folder that was not synchronized. Is it correct? What is this second Trash Folder? Looking at the folder structure that has just been created for the new IMAP account on the client , I noticed that all the special folders (Sent, Draft, Spam, Trash) are contained in the Inbox folder, whilst for the old POP3 account (and two additional POP3 accounts) they were at the same level of Inbox. Is this the normal expected behavior for an IMAP account? I attached a picture with the folder structures. Thank you in advance.

Its a sad sad day... ProfileSwitcher has stopped working me... And after reading the developers website, it says he has made the last update (March 2018) for ProfileSwitcher that he will ever make. Which means any work around to make the add-on work is only prolonging a slow and painful death as Thunderbird keeps updating...

As the title suggests, has anyone found a ProfileSwitcher add-on alternative?

My problem is that Thunderbird has a fault with displaying the message list. I have four separate email accounts set up. When I click on an inbox all I can see is pink and white diagonal stripes where the list of messages should be displayed. However, on one of the accounts it shows a small selection of emails that were the result of a search I did just before the problem. I can fix this by going to the inbox properties and clicking 'Repair Folder' but if I click on another mailbox and go back to the first one I have the blank list (or the search list) again. Is there a way to fix this? It's been working up to a day or two back.

I am trying to copy all the emails from one Local Folder to an IMAP folder. In the Local Folder, there are 4430 emails. However, when I copy all them to the IMAP folder, I end up with 4424. I can't understand why. Anyone have an idea? Thanks for your help.
