If your computer starts to run slow there is a great chance that your system has been infected with malicious threats or virus. For virus removal and Guide and to make your PC free from computer virus. See: <spam link removed>

I really doubt it, safe mode boots instantly, but I am now writing this from a completely fresh Firefox installation and I have the same problem.
Plus, I have antivirus running, and I haven't "indulged" into any unsafe operations nor visited websites.

Just reporting that turning off Hardware Acceleration speeds things up for some reason now, yet I've not installed any new drivers!
