How do I get rid of malware that's messing up my google searches and my facebook page?

more options

I think I downloaded some malware and now my firefox is all messed up. I unistalled and reinstalled, but still. When I do a google search, the top results are blocked by some adds that are jumbled, and on my facebook page there are weird popups all over, even though I disabled popups. Also on Amazon there are crazy popups, even though I disabled them. Please help. This is a huge problem for me as I use the internet all the time.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
