installed outlook but can not forward any emails to my contacts only reply on toolbar

Is this about the Outlook program or the new Outlook web pages that MS now use instead of Hotmail (Windows Live: login.live.com)?
I am a newbie on "Outlook.com" too, having been forced out of "Hotmail" by MSN.
Just to the right of my "reply" on the option bar above the Email, is a down arrow (looking like "V") When I click this I get a drop down menu offering "reply all" and "forward".
all I get is list of my contacts & no forward ..can't we just go back to hotmail??
