firefox is current but pages have to be reloaded and several websites keep asking me to update firefox
For the last 3 weeks I have to reload pages in order to display them. Message says that it is incorrect url. Also at least 3 sites that I visit frequently say that my browser is out of date. I have removed and reinstalled twice.'

Are you really running version 3.0.15???? If so, you should update ASAP.
If you have updated, then your user agent is wrong. See below:
Type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.
Filter = general.useragent.
Right-click the preferences that are bold, one line at a time, and select Reset.
Then restart Firefox
