Hello. I have forgotten my password and am having problems trying to change it

Hi John,
Which password are you referring to?
If that's your Mozilla account password, please see How to change or reset your Mozilla account password. Be aware: resetting the password without a recovery key will erase your cloud data.
If that's your primary password, please see Reset your Primary Password if you've forgotten it. Be aware: resetting the primary password will erase all your saved logins.
If that's your Firefox Backup password, you can just go ahead and change it in the Settings: the old one is not required.
