How can I remove unwanted and unneeded AI input on my Firefox installation?
I want to disable AI on Firefox. I noted a response to another request, that in the first quarter of 2026 something will/may be introduced to allow users to choose not to have an AI input on their Firefox. When will this be available?
I can see why AI summaries on Google searches can sometimes be useful. But I don't have any need for AI-related things on my browser and certainly don't want to contribute to AI's impact on resources etc.
It should be a simple yes/no choice. If it's too complicated to provide a yes/no choice that itself is a very strong indication that there's good reason for needing that choice. What is happening, and when?

The AI overview you see in a Google search is due to Google and not the Firefox web browser. A way to not see AI results in a Google search is to select More > Web on top under the Google search bar on the Google search page.

Thank you James, especially for your quick reply. So pleased to see that there is now an option to choose - and within the time mentioned. Thank you to you and whoever made it happen. :)
My query was a bit ambiguous, sorry, I know Google is responsible for its AI.
Firefox has been my browser for so long I can't remember, and it has always been the best!
