Sporadically over the past year, a virus warning, purportedly from Apple, has locked my FireFox screen. I must Force Quit to unlock FoxFire. See images. Is this a scam?

This is definitely scam. Don't enter your Apple ID credentials.
Good news is that you should be able to get rid of it. Could you please tell more about how you end up with this page opened?
