Something deletes my downloaded files
Hello. Today I downloaded many pdf-files from a site by using DownThemAll-addon. I powered PC off, and when I later powered the PC on again, something had deleted the downloaded files.
DownThemAll downloaded to Downloads/downthemall/ folder, from which I moved them to different folder. The files were deleted from that different folder. If Firefox/DownThemAll deleted the files, how they could find them?
What deletes my files? Already earlier I caught the Windows Defender deleting my files due false hits. But now I had the Defender disabled ; and Defender logs show no removed files.
Anyway, over 200 files vanished and I cannot find them. Luckily I had made a backup just before powering the PC off and got the files back - and know I have severe problem. But I don't know what else has been deleted during the time I have used Windows11 / Firefox / DownThemAll? I want full control over my files - when I want keep or delete them. And mostly I want keep.
By the way, lately the desktop app icons have behaved strangely: the little arrow on the icons vanishes and comes back, or changes from arrow to a cabinet(?) - and once to Firefox icon (like small Firefox icon on Blender, Godot etc icons!). Somehow I have feeling this happens only when I use Firefox extensively.
Firefox is latest, 136.0. DownThemAll is 4.13.1. Windows 11.
