Since Friday i cannot log into my Quickbooks account using Firefox. All other browers work fine when trying to log in. My default browser is Firefox. SO this is totally frustrating.

The error message i receive is:XML Parsing Error: no root element found Location: https://accounts.intuit.com/app/sign-in?app_group=QBO&asset_alias=Intuit.accounting.core.qbowebapp&iux_tests=49561:8:119104&state={%22queryParams%22:{%22locale%22:%22en-us%22}}&app_environment=prod&locale=en-us Line Number 1, Column 1:

To flesh out the "Create a New Profile" process:

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like Test2025, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

Firefox will switch your default profile to the new one, so click the Set as Default Profile button for your regular one to avoid an unwanted surprise at your next startup.

Scroll down to Test2025 and click its Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system to get a clean test.

Do the problem site(s) work any better in the new profile?

When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. (Test2025 will remain available for future testing.)

I saw your additional note: "I have cleared cache and cookies. Refreshed Firefox. Disabled extensions. Nothing is working"

You might need to use Microsoft Edge or another browser for now. If you could report this to Intuit Support, that would be helpful so they can test and let you know whether their site is incompatible with Firefox, or it's something specific to your browser.

I have reported this to Intuit, who in turn told me to report it to Firefox/Mozilla. I have been using Firefox all the years with Intuit, only since Friday afternoon have i been experiencing this issue

Firefox's "Total Cookie Protection" feature limits how sites can use "third party" or "cross-site" cookies, meaning cookies from different websites than the one you see in the address bar. Some sites pass you back and forth between different servers during login because they have their services spread out over a number of different servers. In those cases, you might be able to submit a form successfully on one page and then the next page says you are not logged in. Frustrating!

You can make exceptions to this feature when needed (for each server that you visit as part of the process of using this company's services). More info in the following articles:

Any difference?

Thank you for the report. Would you be able to report back on your current 'Enhanced Tracking Protection' level - standard, strict or custom? You can check that in Preferences -> Privacy and Security. And what version of Firefox are you using?

The enhanced tracking is on standard, and i am using version 134.0.2 (64 bit)

There was a mention of refreshing Firefox and manually removing cookies, but can we double-check if creating a new profile makes the site accessible?

  • Open about:profiles from the address bar
  • Create a New Profile
  • Launch Firefox with the new profile and try logging into QuickBooks
