Hey.

I tried to import the old, corrupted identity to a new one. It does the import thing but it displays nothing, like there's no account set up. I see files (inside the Mail identity folder) with and without extension (e.g. "google" and "google.msf" and nstmp) but I can't do squat with them.

Is there a way to recover the contents?

Thanks.

the files that actually contain mail have no file extension so would be looking at the Google not the google.msf file for instance.

Use the import export tools addon to import whatever mail it can from the broken profile. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools-ng/?src=ss

Use the MBOX import options and that is the default storage for Thunderbird.

Funny thing about the recovery is that I tried the exact same steps days before my request, with no effect (and I Googled looong and hard). I guess I had to post in here to let the magic happen :P

Thanks Matt.
