Firefox saves downloads in C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\Temp.
Most downloaded files are saved in the downloads folder as it should be but some files are being stored in C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\Temp. Why is that and can I change it so that all downloads are actually being saved in the downloads folder?

Are they temporary files? Files that you viewed but not want to download/save?

Files that you open in an external application are stored in the OS temp folder. Also if you redirect a PDF file to open in Firefox via the download dialog then this file is stored in the temp folder.
