I want to kill adblock

more options

When I hit paywalls, I "trust" site with ghostery. Still hit paywall. Can't find anything in Kaspersky that will let me turn off anything. Meanwhile there is no red stop sign ad block in the upper right corner of FF. This is 2 hours of my life i will never get back and I still cannot get past paywall. Is the little red stop sign (which I cannot find in firefox - using most recent version) hidden somewhere other than in the drop down menu on the upper left hand side?? It's not in the drop down menu.

I am ready to kill everything and start fresh with Tor. That's drastic but I have been directed in circles for too much time. Life is short and I am no longer entertained with this mess.

There should be a setting; Disable on <Website>. Go to the website and click the Kaspersky icon.

Is this the only blocker you are using?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case Content Blocking is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more details and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console about what content is blocked

Hi Dorothykd, different website paywalls may work differently. Even if you are using a fresh install, you may only get a few free articles before hitting a wall. If you want to try a fresh install, here's a way to set that up:

Creating a Special Purpose Profile

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test your problem site(s).

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it. Don't use any Remove buttons on this page.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like June2019, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

After creating the profile, scroll down to it and click the Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system so we can get a clean test.

Do the problem site(s) work any better in the new profile?

When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile/window(s).

Any time you want to use that profile in the future, go back to the about:profiles page and use the Launch profile in new browser button.
