When I copy and paste a block of text from Word, it's a different size to the font in Thunderbird

I often cut and paste paragraphs from a word doc (with hyperlinks already included) into my emails. However, it seems that it doesn't matter what size the font is in word, in Thunderbird, if I paste (rather than paste without formatting), which I need to do to keep the hyperlinks, the text is ever so slightly smaller than the font already within my email. If I try to enlarge the text that I've just pasted, it has no effect.
It's only a small niggle, but surely should be easy to solve, and I end up sending emails with paragraphs in ever so slightly varying sizes.

Have you checked that you really need to paste "with formatting" in order to get working links? Email addresses and URLs will generally be turned into working links on receipt.
I would always advise to paste plain text "without formatting" from a source such as Word or Outlook.

Hi, I thought that it was generally good practice to rather than have the URL, it was better to insert a hyperlink, so if I pasted without formatting, I would lose those hyperlink.
If there's a better way to insert pre-written paragraphs which include hyperlinks, I would be interested to hear it, as I'm trying to just save a few seconds here and there to help speed my admin up a bit.
The default view you may have set in Thunderbird so that you can read emails comfortably may not be the same as you have set in MSWord. One may be using point and the other pixel. I personally never copy paste with formatting from MSWord as it causes no end of issues especially for recipients. It can be important to not have size of font hard coded in html of email, allowing the recipient to use whatever size is suitable for them to read the email.
Copy pasting anything from any MSWord doc will also paste a load of formatting that will bloat the email.
MSWord is a word processing package that offers a huge range of options in formatting, fonts etc which cannot be found in a non-word processing program. So you cannot expect them to transfer from one program to another and not encounter some modifications.
If you copy paste and there can be some modifications eg: Font size. You would need to save email as Draft then select email in draft folder an click on 'View Source' to see exactly what has been inserted in css html.
If you copy paste without formatting: In the Write' window, the Hyperlinks should not look like hyperlinks; they will look like normal text. This is normal and facilitates easy editing. Save as Draft select the email in Drafts folder and you should notice the website hyperlinks now look like links. This is what your recipient will see.
I use 'Paste with Formatting' all the time for anything copy pasted from MSWord and similar programs to avoid inserting bloated css html coding.
