I made a new profile and lost my bookmarks and login data. I've done what was said to recover information from the old profile but it isn't working.
It said to go to the old profile show folder and copy certain files/folders and paste them into the new profile show folder or in another article I read, it said to make a new transfer file in the old profile and copy all the info into it and then paste it into the new one. I've done that and my bookmarks and log in data are still not working.
How can I fix this? If I go to my old profile and open firefox, all the bookmarks are still working fine. I just want all that info on my new profile. Thanks for any help!
By the way, I'm not the most computer literate so please give me step by step instructions, if possible, so that I will know what to do! Again, thank you!

Make sure Firefox is closed before attempting this.
I see you want to transfer over your login data & bookmarks.
- Press the Windows key and the R key to open up the Run command box.
- Type "%APPDATA/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles" into the Run box.
- Windows will open Explorer in the path you specified. Find your default profile folder (It will have 8 character alphanumeric file name followed by .default (xxxxxxxx.default)
- Go into that folder and copy over places.sqlite, key3.db, and logins.json to your other profile folder.
Then you should be set!
This is what I tried doing before and it didn't work. Unless I was doing it wrong. On the last step you have written, you say to copy over those 3 things into my other profile folder. Number one: I didn't have a key3.db - mine was only key.db, if I'm remembering correctly. Secondly, how do you paste it into your other profile folder? Maybe that is what I was doing wrong. I was closing my old profile folder, opening up my new new profile folder (same steps as opening up the old one like you said) and pasting it there. If that is what you are telling me, I already did that and it didn't work. None of my info is showing in my new profile. Am I missing something here? Thanks!
