how do I delete bookmarks, and how do I get an icon view of the bookmarks?

On the Firefox home screen swipe until the bookmarks view is the current view. Navigate the folders to the bookmark. Long press on the bookmark and select delete.

I am unsure what you mean by an icon view of your bookmarks.
