why does firefox tell me its open when I try and go to it even though I have closed the prior search, I have to restart every time
I have a window that I close I go do other things and then come back to firefox, it then tells me that is is still open and asks me to close it or to restart my system, it will not close eventhough I cant see anywhere that it is still open so I have to restart, this is happening every time I go to firefox

This can happen if you clear the history via "Clear history when Firefox closes".
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
