Can no longer Bookmark This Page into existing file in Bookmarks Toolbar

more options

Before when I went to Bookmark This Page in Bookmarks Toolbar a dropdown menu would give me the option of bookmarking the page into an existing file in the Bookmarks Toolbar. This no longer happens and I can only start a new file

An existing folder? What do you see when you click "Bookmark this page"? This is what I see:

Eve; That is what I see too. I used to be able to click on other bookmarks; then Bookmarks Toolbar, Which would then show me the list of folders in the Bookmarks Toolbar; then I would click on the folder I wanted to bookmark the particular page. But now I cant get beyond the Bookmarks Toolbar. It doesn't show a drop down list of the existing folders in the Toolbar.

Thanks

It is possible that folders are collapsed. Make sure that you open the full folder tree by clicking "Choose Folder".

Did you try to click or double-click on a folder line in the full folder tree that opens if you click the second arrow on the folder line outside the folder field ?

The "Edit This Bookmark" dialog that opens if you click the highlighted star has a checkbox with "Show editor when saving" (shortcut key in the dialog is Alt+S). This item is at the bottom just above "Remove Bookmark" and "Done".

See "How do I change the name or location of a bookmark?"

Hi Richard2k, are you using either:

  • the button similar to ∨ at the right end
  • the "Choose..." item on the recent folders list

Both of those should open a box below that line where you can expand/contract different folders to drill down into the details.
