Why doesn't my scroll bar show all the time?

Haven't had this problem prior, but it's driving me crazy today.

Scroll bar on right side doesn't show unless I re-adjust window size or hover or do drag corner of browser window. Simply want it there all the time as has been the case as long I've used Firefox. I'm told this version is up to date and believe my Mac is as well.

Older "how to's" say got to Settings | General | Select "Show Scroll Bar" as "Always" but I do not see that option available.

I just don't see a place to change setting for scroll bar anywhere.

I want the scroll bar to always be there on all pages. How can I tell Firefox to make it so.

The scroll bars will only show up if the page is larger than the window it is displayed in.

If you have a three button mouse, clicking the middle button turns the mouse into a scroll controller.

On Mac the scroll bars can be hidden and only have them show when you scroll the page so you can see the current scroll position. You can make the scroll bars always visible:

  • System Preferences > General > Show Scroll Bar > Choose "Always"
