Sometimes when I open Thunderbird none of my email accounts are populating the left sidebar. I close the program and reopen it and they are there.

Also, I run both Thunderbird and Firefox and I find that both drop internet connection at the same time. I can't send and email and I can't access a website simultaneously. Logic would suggest that it's something other than these two programs but I found that closing both programs reestablishes the internet connection.

At this point, I find that when reopening Firefox I get an error message that says it's already open and I need to close it before opening another instance of it. I click okay and then it opens with an established internet connection.

Today, as I was working, using firefox I got a Malwarebytes warning that firefox was trying to connect to kelpmedia.com but the website was blocked. Domain: kelpmedia.com IP Address: 52.216.1.218 Port: 55936 Type: Outbound File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

I searched quite a bit to figure out what kelpmedia was after this and found nothing. I didn't go here manually. Firefox did it on it's own. Any suggestions about what all this bugginess means?

Can you start Firefox (and Thunderbird) if you wait a bit longer (one minute) before restarting Firefox?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
