How do I make the search box show a full, scrolling list of my search engines with NAMES instead of just icons?

Before the update to Quantum, thanks to an Extension called Classic Theme Restorer, my search box showed my full list of 50+ search engines in a scrolling list that advanced when I hovered over the arrow at the bottom. Now, it's just a grid of unlabeled icons. This is useless for two reasons: (1) Most wiki sites use the default icon or no icon at all. (2) Because the list no longer scrolls, about half of it isn't visible.

What should I do?

Note: I run my computer (Windows 7 SP1 64-bit) at 800x600 resolution most of the time. I do that because I'm disabled and I need the extra mouse sensitivity.

Now 1st thought is that you have left over files in your Firefox left by that Extension and it is causing corruption in Firefox but it is still the Extension causing so need to look for anything to do with that Extension and delete it in the Mozilla Firefox folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86)

Have you checked where the come from : I am think since had said that you are talking about the search bar beside the Address Bar. The info for search engines comes from Tools Copy/Paste about:preferences in to the address bar and Enter. Then Click on Search on left side.

What's going on in the One-Click Search Engines ???

Am thinking that your file for this is corrupted maybe and you need to remove what's there then Click Add More Search Engines.

So suggest that pick one and remove it, shut down Firefox and then go to same place and add it back in. See what happens to the Search Bar. It is the only way to test if that is correct thought or not. Thanks.

Ok since none of that worked (low tech) : This the best way to uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

I tried removing and re-adding a search engine and it didn't change anything.

Honestly, I don't think this is a bug. This is exactly how it looked before I found the Classic Theme Restorer add-on.

Is there some code I can to my userChrome.css file? I already made one so I could remove my tab bar.
