Quantum memory usage after Windows 10 Fall Creators update

Win 10 Pro.

Firefox Quantum update on Nov 14th was a superb improvement regarding memory usage which dropped from approx 1800 - 2200 MB to an average of 350-400 MB using Quantum. (35 tabs open in 5 Firefox windows.) The memory usage also remained more or less steady much longer with Quantum.

However, after the lengthy Win 10 Fall Creators update, the Firefox Quantum memory usage has soared eight-fold plus to 2800-3000 MB (so far) and apparently still climbing.

I've checked this on three other machines all of which have the Win 10 Fall Creators update installed and the situation is now the same with them too. Even with just one open tab on a relatively static web page there is abnormally high Firefox memory usage of 800+ MB.

Not sure how this will ultimately affect Quantum's performance nor how it will affect overall PC performance but it appears to be a step backward due to a problem with Microsoft's latest OS.

Does anyone have any insight on this?
