What kinda excel attachments extensions are you talking about here? Firefox has no Office suite program to open office type extensions. If your using 365 online then they could be blocking it from opening as well. And since there is no error screenshot no one will know what is happening here. And if you have office suite installed that should open in excel or exel in Browser but if you got neither installed then this is a Excel support to test and verify for Firefox on their side.
