I'm trying to print this article( https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/25/books/review-lynching-port-jervis-philip-dray.html?searchResultPosition=4 ) in Simplified Format but its duplicating the images. I tried a different article and it did the same

Hi Jonathan, the "Simplified" print format uses similar logic to the "Reader" view (document icon toward the right end of the address bar). Does the same problem occur in Reader view or is it specific to printing?

Hello @Jscher2000 ,Thank you for your response, yes, It does behave the same way in Reader view.

To answer my own question, yes, the image appears twice in Reader view. The page actually has a second copy of the image overlaid on the first, and in Reader view/Simplified format, the style code that repositions the second image is not applied causing both images to appear. (See attached composite screenshot with the developer tools open.)

I don't think there is a general purpose fix for this because Firefox probably can't do an image comparison to avoid the duplication. But there might be a "hack" to hide the second image (or the first image; hiding either should work). No time to work on that now myself.
