Hi, what reason is it saying for not doing such a extremely large amount ? Have not heard of not doing so unless it is being blocked, the browser needs to be closed or you need to boot into Windows Safe Mode.

Just to confirm, Malwarebytes is no longer free, this might be why the trial version will not let you quarantine them.

So then why oh why was it recommended to me as free? Today at that! So now? Remember I live in SA the exchange rate is prohibitive to the US$.

I wondered about the free trial thing. So now? I do not have the ability to pay so will have to delete it (Malwarebytes).

If this is how Mozilla Firefox acts then I have made a mistake by downloading it in the first place.

Hi, we would not have recommended it if it we knew it was no longer free. It has changed in the last little while. Is the 1st I have heard of it and I read tech news daily. Though the path to all that was found would be there. I also provided a URL that had a list of other options in it. Have you tried those other options ?

This is also not a Firefox issue, Support is providing you with Help dealing with this. Suggest trying the other URL's that are in the one provided to resolve the issue.

Also, just an FYI, Malwarebytes is a tool that we recommend, but it is not associated with Mozilla in anyway. I can help you with the tool a little if you have specific questions, but because it found so many threats it seems like you have some pretty serious infections on your computer. So, the bleepingcomputer forum I posted is probably a better place to get specific help with cleaning your computer.

note, to quarantine a threat in malwarebytes, you have to click the checkbox. there is a checkbox to select them all

Just note, using Firefox is actually better for your security and privacy, as it does it's best to protect you from these threats.

PK, the trial is just for their premium service. You can scan and remove threats forever for free.

You should also check with Malwarebytes support for any issues/questions.

Mozilla Firefox or Firefox for short is a web browser as Mozilla is the company that makes it. Neither the Firefox web browser or Mozilla is acting suspicious in any way in relation to Malwarebytes.

Things found in the Cache are harmless if left alone. Tracking cookies are not threats like some software may make them to be.

By the by I was eventually able to quarantine the PUP threats. There were a total of 1471 of them can you believe! Will be speaking to my brothers about this. Windows defender scan was run and no threats found!?! So the plot thickens.

Firefox has nothing to do with the malware on your computer. I simple suggested you scan for malware as you were complaining about spam, which is often caused by these viruses.

Malware, and the likes, sometimes can't be picked up by anti-virus scans. That is why we recommend using mal-scanners as well.

Simple if you read all the trail of comments and replies something is wrong. I Have installed a Windows Defender program and that never picked this up. Using this Malwarebytes program I suddenly have 1471 threats! I am not lost that Firefox (Mozilla) is a different entity to Malwarebytes. You people recommended it. So first, let me apologize for the misinformation you received above. Because you didn't post your reply on your original thread, but created a new one, I wasn't notified when you created this reply, so other people who were not aware of the advice responded before I got a chance to.

Let me clear the air, and this is based on over 10 years in software, computer repair and IT.

Malwarebytes is a 100% free product that is very reputable and well respected. Malwarebytes is an anti-malware program, not an anti-virus. So it catches different things than windows defender. It's like when you are sick, different medicines treat different diseases. So yes. Malwarebytes is reputable, it's free, and you should run a scan with it once a month or so and remove what it finds. Computer security is complicated and it requires many layers of security.

So, to sum it up, your computer was infected, it has likely been infected for a long time. We gave you the tools to remove the infection. I'm sorry you got conflicting information, but what I'm telling you now is true.

Hopefully you'll reconsider and be willing to use Firefox it truly is better for you, respects your privacy, and keeps you safe on the web.

You do not answer my questions and try to wriggle out of responsibility in my opinion. Spam/viruses whatever all the same to me. They should not be there. Perhaps you should have considered the fact that I am not knowledgeable about viruses and malware. I should have been told up front. Only after all this is it becoming clear to me. Is this Malwarebyes thing free or not? Yes or No. Not a free trial, that is leading me down the wrong path. I suspect not from their site but I initially ignored it because you (Firefox) said it was free.

Malwarebytes is free. Period. End of story.
