Downloaded attachments (eg PDF files) used to appear automatically on-screen moments after the Download Arrow (top right) glowed blue. No longer; any ideas why

The change has happened in the last couple of weeks.

Now, instead of automatically appearing on screen, the downloaded attachment has to be retrieved by (1) clicking on the Download Arrow, (2) clicking on the folder icon, (3) double-clicking on the downloaded file inside "Downloads".

This is very laborious, and quite annoying. Perhaps some Settings have been changed in a recent update?

Your suggestions of a solution would be most appreciated; thank you!

If you download the file, it is stored on the computer. That's it. If you select to view the file, it should download to a temporary folder on your system. And after, it should be displayed.
