My computer is basically new. I have Avast anti virus, steam (CS:GO sims3+pets only games installed), Google Chrome (installed with avast), Magic iso, Wd my cloud server software (for my home network cloud), Microsoft silverlight and that's it. Firefox will only start in safe mode I have tried clean install of the latest version and searching for updates in safe mode my adobe plugins are up to date I have disabled all else. The only websites I have visited in firefox were Facebook to login and save my password clicked no links, Netflix to find the Silverlight plugin, Gaia online to save my password. that's it now it wont start without crashing in any other mode what can I do.

You may have had hardware acceleration disabled in your old profile and now have it enabled in the new profile that got created due to the reset/refresh.

You can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift/Options key.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
