Hardware acceleration causing crashes on latest drivers (r9 380)

Firefox always crashes when opening console/inspecting elements (basically pressing F12 crashed the browser). I'm using the latest drivers for my GPU R9 380 (Catalyst 15.7). This issue was not happening on my last GPU (ati hd4850). I've disabled hardware acceleration for now and that fixed the crashing, but now fonts look blocky, like there is no anti-aliasing.

Is there a fix for my crashes or atleast a fix for the "blocky" text?

It might be possible to change the font that the page displays in in the fonts and colors settings under content in your Firefox preferences. Or change the zoom on the pages: Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages

However I might also recommend reporting the driver as an issue in bugzilla.mozilla.org.
