Open Internet Explorer on the computer that has the Favorites you want to export.

   Press the Alt key on your keyboard. The menu bar (with File, Edit, View, etc.) will appear.
   Click on the File menu and select Import and Export.... The Import/Export Settings Window will appear.

   In the Import/Export Settings window, click to select Export to a file. Then click the Next button.
   Select Favorites. Then click the Next button.
   Select the Favorites folders you want to export. To export all your favorites, click the Favorites folder at the top of the list. Then click the Next button.
   Click the Browse... button, then navigate to a folder to save your bookmarks file. Then click the Export button.

look for the shortcut in favourite folder copy and paste it on desktop

I'd suggest using one of the following Firefox Add-ons for saving and organising your offline articles / manuals:

• Pocket
• Readability
• Scrapbook

You can even sync the offline pages to your phone or tablet or share to an evernote notebook if you want.

thanks mohammed! Wow, after checking out your instructs here, i explored the

option in FF, and now i just discovered this (forgive me, i'm

relatively a "newbie") : in FF, i went to:

bookmarks library, 

found the bookmark i wanted, looked at the "location" listing,

and noticed it's actually a file on my computer (i had 

previously thought it was a collection of online webpages!) So then i right-clicked, selected "copy", then went to my PC's

desktop, and right-click selected "paste shortcut." Although

it created a shortcut with the IE icon, it actually did succeed

in being one that opened my bookmark with FF! Yippee! Thanks for pointing the way. :) And perhaps others will hopefully find this useful too!

Exporting bookmarks to HTML is really aimed at backing up or transferring your bookmarks to another browser. It doesn't give you any convenient options for managing the bookmarks offline.
