I cannot create new bookmark folders
When I try to create a new bookmark folder, the option appears gray in my toolbox and won't let me use it. I can't seem to create new folders though I can use old ones.

I think your system is virus infected.
Does that happen with all three bookmarks displays?

Library - {Ctrl + Shft + B}
Menu Bar - Bookmarks drop-down listing
Yes. I can access the bookmarks I have already and I can add bookmarks randomly. But it won't allow me to add new folders.
This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
