Cannot send email
I am unable to send email. I either get this error message: 'Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com timed out. Try again. The settings are: Description: Outgoing Server Type: SMTP Outgoing Server Server Name: netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com Port: 465 User Name: gene@genemaas.net Authentication method: Normal password Connection Security: SSL/TLS Successfully established a secure connection to netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com:465.
I get the same error using Port 587 and STARTTLS
I have also been asked for a password to connect to: netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com I have never needed a password before and I do not have a password.
I do receive emails.

You most likely have incorrect SMTP settings. I find no record of this email host, so you should contact them to confirm the correct settings.
Another possible factor is your anti-virus program. It, or other network "security" software can block a program's full network access until create an exception for that program. Sometimes a software update can make the program appear to be "new".
You MUST have a password. All email providers require one, otherwise anybody could access your email. If you have lost or forgotten your password, you should be able to reset it at the provider's web site or web mail page.
