The sender information in the from column is incorrect.
Some of the messages in my inbox show the wrong information in the "from" and "correspondents" columns. Is there a way to get the correct information from the message to be displayed?

Try repair of folder:
- Right click on 'Inbox' and select 'Properties'
- click on 'Repair Folder'
- click on 'Ok'
It didn't solve the problem, but I'm glad to find a tool I wasn't aware of in case I need it in the future. I did also notice the 'Search Messages...' option on the right click menu, which shows the correct result when I search the 'From' field.
go to settings and disable the use of "pretty names" ala "Show only display name for people in my address book"
If that fixes it, fix your entries in your address book.
That didn't fix it, but it was nice to learn about another feature in the settings. The problem actually resolved itself when I restarted Thunderbird. I think the problem may have resulted from my moving messages to the trash or to other folders but leaving them open in tabs.
