I use IMAP to grab my mail, if that's important.

In the last couple of days, my normal method of deleting messages from my Inbox, right-clicking on the message and selecting the trash can icon, has stopped working: the message disappears for a moment, then reappears. I can delete it by dragging it to the Trash folder in the folders pane on the left.

I've followed the instructions given in several postings here, including deleting the Trash and trash.msf files, doing that and then creating an empty txt file called Trash (no .txt), and using Repair Folder.

It just now occurred to me to disconnect from the Internet and try to delete a message. It worked fine?!

My Thunderbird email account developed a problem, emails would download but contained no content. The same emails on on my provider's web site (Spectrum.com) did contain content. I want to fix this problem.

I finally got Thunderbird to not go to Rogers every time I get email. But now I cannot send any email from any address.When I try to send I get an error message. I cannot add an SMPT server as it will not take it

After Windows 11 crash and re-install and Thunderbird re-install, where can I find my old address file and old email file location in saved backed up data, and filename format to import in new Thunderbird installation? I have done this once a long time ago and forgot.

A hacker got into one of my accounts. All emails to all accounts do not get past the Yahoo and Google servers and I've only been able to restore service through principal account. How can I save my data and correct the compromised settings?

Some good E-mails got moved into junk, so I right-clicked them and marked them as "not junk." Seconds later, they reappeared in the Junk folder.

Also, Thunderbird continues to classify messages from the same sender and even the same thread as junk. I read the doc here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-junk-spam-messages#w_tell-thunderbird-what-is-not-junk

and the behavior is not consistent with what's described, or what anyone would expect.

Is this a known bug?

Thunderbird not connecting to server. It says timds out and an error occurred connecting to mobile.charter.net. I can neither send or receive emails. This started 8/20/2026

I can send emails but I cannot receive them. I can receive them at Spectrum.net. The problem started the evening of the 26th. Everything was fine during the day. But in the evening I could no longer get email. I am not aware of making any changes to either Thunderbird or to Spectrum. I did call Spectrum but they could not find any problem on their end. I recently changed the password in Spectrum but Thunderbird has the updated password. All of the settings in Thunderbird look right. Any ideas on what I should do?

I installed Thunderbird on my new laptop, then imported the profile from my old laptop

The main screen has, under "Inbox", folders for Drafts, Sent, Trash, Archive and Spam, which are being used by the program

Folders for Drafts, Sent and Trash also appear under "Local Folders" (along with Outbox) and these aren't being used by the program.

How do I get rid of these duplicate folders? "Spam" had a delete option, so that was easy, but the others don't.

I tried the two suggestions for a previous "Duplicates" question but they didn't resolve things.

My old Widows 10 computer died. All I have left of it is the last full Acronis 2020 backup. I have installed Thunderbird on my new Windows 11 computer and want to restore my Profile data from the backup. How do I find them? Have been searching for days and can't find anything like in your profiles help article.

If I can't recover the data can you at least send me my current license key?

I have successfully setup and installed Tbird on my new Windows 11 computer. Now all I need is to recover my contacts from the old computer's Acronis 2020 backup. How to do that and/or what specifgic file to search for and recover. I have attached a jpg of the Acronis screen.

I had to recently change my password on my shaw email account. Now thunderbird won't download my emails. I changed the password in the account settings to match the shaw email account password but I keep getting an error message: "Host contacted, sending login information..." and then after a long delay the error message reads "Login to server pop.shaw.ca with username ... failed". Any idea what I'm doing wrong by simply changing the password? I think this happened before and some wonderful human on this forum told me I had to put something before the password or click/unclick a particular box, but I can't find that old answer to my previous question. Thanks in advance for any help someone can offer!

I have two Tbird accounts pmcreativeservices@rcn.com has been mine for 20 years, and it's what I use for bills, banking, etc. The other account is PatriciaRosemoor@rcn.com and is only used to collect messages that come from my author website. Yesterday, I got a message from someone who tried but couldn't put a book up at Amazon and asked if there was something I could do about it. My trying to send her a message via the PatriciaRosemoor account is what started requests for my Primary Password. One a minute after I cancelled the last one. I tried the two passwords I knew I had, but neither worked. I got a request for a new password so I did that and it didn't work either. I kept going back to it all day yesterday uselessly. I found directions of what to do online, but it didn't match up with my Settings information. Please, if you can tell me how to fix this, I would be grateful. Or, if I can keep the thousands of emails I probably have, I could try deleting the account and recreating the account. The problem would be how to bring all my saved emails back. What are the memory limits for Thunderbird. Currently, I get this message when I try to save and email "Unable to save your message to local folders. Possibly out of local file storage space." Please see attached screenshot.

I am not out of storage space.

Every 10 minutes, your Thunderbird app generates an attachment (nmsa) that McAfee deems a Trojan and quarantines it. I get 15-20 popups from mcafee every hour. If I close Thunderbird it stops. What can i do to stop this from happening?
