not working, rather Firefox, but
I've rebooted, even did a hard reboot, total 3 times, tried system restore, 1 hour past update, deleted Firefox, reinstalled, still "in use", deleted Norton, still same. Reinstalled norton. There NO BUTTON, SWITCH, there! I can File, new blank page, still nothing. Sort of reminds me of automakers, all look alike! Left side, simple, turn on sc or import, at the opening first time, import short cuts and bookmarks from previous page, turn off Newsweek. Simple, without the hassle of now, those that have cleared, happy for you! For me same thing at the top, yellow bar, "in use!"

So what exactly is the issue?
Rebooted 7 times, restored failed. Yellow box says system in use by another, whatever. I do have Norton 360, for as I know Microsoft Defender was in the off position prior update. Bookmarks and shortcuts are go.
I know I'm not the only one to have and issue with this update. Of all the updates 10+years, this is the 1st problem. I've tried, solutions Firefox, suggestions from Community, AI, still all I have if I allow it is the news feed, that I don't want. News feed is where the short cuts were. Plus menu bar below address gone. That's on all my laptops. Other than that, just hunky dory!
I would be happy, just posting the short cuts, probably have to do all over again, if I could get one started.

Assuming it's "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional...", have you checked the related article? And have you tried creating a new database as suggested there?
