go to settings>privacy&security and check to ensure you have thunderbird set to accept cookies. You may need to close and restart thunderbird before continuing

You are being asked to consent to TB accessing your gmail account, which is necessary to authenticate with Google. If you've removed the mail account but still see the window, it's probably because there is a leftover Google calendar or address book in TB. If so, unsubscribe the calendar or remove the address book.
