Every four or five seconds the spinning ball frustratingly interrupts the reading and writing of emails in Thunderbird. [Mac OS X 10_12_6]

The problem didn't happen initially and seems to be slowly increasing in regularity.

I can type whilst the ball is spinning but the type won't display until the ball stops spinning.

It happens when composing, opening emails, opening attachments and I suspect, when sending, because often, the emails fail to send, presumably when whatever is happening coincides with clicking 'send'.

I am using Safari 10.1.2 on a MacBook Pro.

Can you post a screen shot of what you see when this happens?

Also, does situation improve if you start Thunderbird in safe mode?

Hello Wayne,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Tried your safe mode suggestion and things worked much better. The only add on I was using was a Font Resizer which I rather liked.

Also, I only experienced the problem on this Mac Book. Everything worked fine on a Mac Pro and a Lenovo PC.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,

Paul
