I have forgotten my password for this Thunderbird email account. I've tried to follow the directions to remove my "master password." So, when I try to check my email again, it still asks for a password. How can I check my email now, or set up a new password? Thanks in advance.

Your email password is administered with your email provider. Work with them to reset a forgotten password. The master password in Thunderbird protects access to any email password that you told Thunderbird to remember. It has nothing to do with logging into your email account.

May be a silly question, but I thought Mozilla Thunderbird is my email provider?

Thunderbird is email client software that runs on your computer. Email providers issue email addresses. I am guessing that yours is not @thunderbird.com.

I really do apologize that I feel so crazy asking these questions. But do you have any idea how I can figure out who it is? A neighbor set it up for me a few years ago who no longer lives there. It ends with my business name, so that doesn't too much help. Obviously, I'm not very good with computer stuff as you can see. I have racked my brain and looked through old notes, but I was wondering if there is a different way I can figure out who I went through for this email address? Thanks again for your help!

You might try googling your address and sees if it comes back with provider details. Other than that you should have some idea who your provider is. Especially if you try to run a business with it.

Ok...so I have my password changed. Now, Thunderbird won't even let me type a password. Every time I try to do something, it says I've timed out. Any help on this? Thanks.
