As of noon yesterday my Thunderbird gets messages, puts them in the trash, then the spam and then sends a message to "spam" at my email provider. Since noon yesterday, I don't get email messages. I don't know what else it could be. If I go to the webmail, I get messages, but as soon as I download them with T-bird, they are in the trash and then sent as a spam notification to my email provider. I really use t-bird a lot so I would really hate to stop using it, it's much more useful than the webmail. Thanks
PS. I use Linux Ubuntu

As of two days ago, all of my incoming messages are going directly to the Trash folder.
On Thunderbird, I've deleted all my message filters, and disabled adaptive spam filter logging. On my webmail provider, I've deleted all filters there and checked for any changes that might be responsible (there are none). None of this has fixed the problem.
I have a POP account, if that's relevant. Please help! Thank you.

Starting today (September 3), ALL of my received emails are being put into the Spam folder instead of the Inbox.
FYI, I have been running Thunderbird (TB) for years and have not recently set up any new filters.
I'm currently running Thunderbird 64-bit version 155.0 under Windows 11 Home version 25H2. I am also running Bitdefender Total Security, but I have turned off its Antispam function, both under my usual Standard User account and the Admin account.
I have tried:
1. Going into TB Settings|Privacy & Security|Spam and clicking on "Reset Training Data." 2. After closing TB, I deleted the training.dat file in my TB profile folder and restarted TB. 3. Right-clicked on my Inbox and Spam folders and clicked on "Repair Folder." 4. Exited TB, copied my profile folder to an external HD, uninstalled TB and reinstalled TB after downloading from the official download site. 5. Rebooted my PC.
None of these approaches has worked to solve my problem.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Maybe I accidentally made a setting, but if I go get email, it sends it to trash and from there marks it as spam and sends it to spam at my email provider. This just started when I tried it this afternoon. I think it was OK in the AM. I use Linux Ubuntu. It moves all emails to trash and then sends them. I just looked at my message filters and they look normal to me, I do have something called SpamAssasinYes, which I remember from years ago that looks at the whole complete header and sends an email to all the providers in it telling them that their user is using their server for spam. Maybe that has changed somehow, but I forgot it was there because it has been there for about 20 years. Should i just remove all those filters and see what happens? I need some guidance. thanks

My business has two domains. I can send email to a Gmail account holder using the primary domain with no issues. But amy emails from what I call the "secondary" domain below are treated as spam. This occurs with two different email addresses using the secondary domain.
Both domains are hosted with Bluehost. Exhaustive research has revealed the following:
After many hours of head scratching (and later, head banging), I am pretty much at my wit's end with this problem. I'm an electronic engineer but this one is definitely out of my wheelhouse. Any help would most certainly be appreciated!
Thanks in advance, Don

I am using thunderbird client on arch linux. I am trying to filter by adding "Reply-To" as a filter. If i look into the source of the email i am trying to filter (i get like 100s of spam messages and only the Reply To seems to be from the same domain in the end) the Reply-To appears in there.
Any idea how to fix that? The other rules work fine, this one only seems to not work

Since I was upgraded to Thunderbird 155.0 64 bit (Meadow) snap version on my Ubuntu version 24.04 all incoming messages are going to my spam folder. I copied my old Thunderbord profile to my snap thunderbird folder to retain folders, settings etc. and although everything else works, my incoming mail is still going directly to spam. I have unchecked the 'enable adaptive spam' check box and also 'trust junk mail headers' box. I have run repair on my inbox and also the spam folder. I checked my mail server and the mail is not marked as spam there... Getting tired of manually moving messages from spam to my inbox several times a day...... Help!

Since some time late last night (so about 16 hours ago at most), my Thunderbird account started processing filters incorrectly on incoming emails. A number of legitimate emails were detected by filters I had set up, and deleted, although they did not appear to meet any of the criteria I put in the filter. On editing the filters, I did find some with a criteria active on the 'from' address, containing, and with a complete blank in the text box. I am not sure if this meant they were picked up by the rule, but I deleted all lines with blanks in them. Following this, some emails were still being processed as meeting the criteria of the rules, although they did not. It does now appear to have settled down, but instead, messages that I personally deleted, are not appearing in the 'deleted emails' folder until after I close down Thunderbird and re-open it again. (which is a little confusing, but I am coping). At this point I do not need any assistance, so long as this strange behaviour stops happening, but I was trying to work out if it was something in my Thunderbird programme awry, or something at the mail server, and I have not been able to confirm either, so thought I ought to let you know. I usually install Thunderbird and Firefox updates as soon as they are available when the programme notifies one is available. I do like the appearance and function of Thunderbird, and appreciate what you do - Thankyou. Best wishes, David Church

I've recently started having an issue where emails sent from my email account are being delivered, but some of them are ending up in the recipient's spam folder.
I'm using Thunderbird and the account itself appears to be working normally. I can send and receive messages without seeing any obvious errors.
I've already checked the SMTP settings, but I'm wondering if this could be related to my domain's email authentication rather than Thunderbird itself.
What should I check for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, and is there a good way to determine whether the problem is with Thunderbird, the mail server, or the domain's email configuration?
