I've browsed through a dozen of posts now and so far got my homepage to show me my local file. The problem is that I want this local file to also show when I open a new tab (Ctrl+T).

I've configured an autoconfig based on another post I read, currently have this:

In my autoconfig.cfg: // first line is a comment var {classes:Cc,interfaces:Ci,utils:Cu} = Components; var newTabURL = "path_to_my_file.html"; aboutNewTabService = Cc["@mozilla.org/browser/aboutnewtab-service;1"].getService(Ci.nsIAboutNewTabService); aboutNewTabService.newTabURL = newTabURL;

I have the last line commented because it worked for the poster, but it gives me an error that firefox couldn't load my autoconfig and that I should contact my sysadmin, lol. Other than that error message, it worked the same as it does now after I closed the popup.

If possible I don't want to use any extensions for this.

On the website at www.trelly.com as well as others, when I want to share a link I'm taken to my Chrome browser. I have Firefox selected as my default browser and most of the time links are opened in Firefox. Is there anything that can be done to prevent some links going to Chrome?

I'm trying to sign-in to my Firefox account, but it won't let me as I'm still signed-in on another device. The other device is my old SSD which failed and can't access anymore. How do I sign-out of the old SSD so I can get access to my Firefox account on my new SSD?

Several weeks ago, because it seemed to be a Gmail-tab-only problem, Firefox Support advised us to contact Gmail Support.

It is now clear that the problem is with the Firefox browser. The attached screenshot shows an example of an affected tab.

Please fix this. Multiple versions of the same tab waste RAM and other memory, especially on a limited-memory device such as a laptop.

I've been having an interesting problem with Firefox for the past couple of months regarding only Soundcloud, where after the first visit to the website it won't load, giving a generic "Sorry! Something went wrong" screen. Firefox will continue to not load the site correctly until I clear the cookies and the cache, which works but only for one visit, and as soon as I close the tab and open soundcloud again or refresh the tab the problem comes back. I have disabled all of my extensions as well as enhanced tracking protection when testing. A firefox refresh also did not solve the problem. The only way I can get the site to behave normally is when using private browsing.

The console is filled with errors regarding javascript files (source URI is not allowed in this document).

Hi there,

I have a Firefox account which was registered using an email associated with a company I no longer work for. Since I have left the company, that email is inactive and I can no longer access it. This means that when I attempt to log into Firefox with that account, I cannot enter the verification / 2FA code because I cannot access the email.

Is there anyway I can close that Firefox account anyway? I do have the Firefox recovery key for that account though. I just wish for all the data associated with said account to be deleted.

I cannot find any way to report problems, this seems to be the only way. When I try to open any PDF file, I have to Browse to find my pdf viewer (Flexipdf 2022). I do that and also check your "Do this automatically" option. Every time I try to open a pdf after that I still have to go through all the same Browse steps. I also set up Flexipdf 2022 in the Applications section of General Settings (Portable Document Format (PDF) (application/pdf)) and it is just deleted or never saved. The next time I look or try to use it, it’s gone. This is obviously a bug in your system, please correct. Thank You.

Dear Mozilla volunteer! I recently experience regular crashes of FireFox version 94.02 under MacOS Monterey. I have removed some add-ons and also "probleemoplossingsmodus" did not help. Furthermore I uploaded various crashreports.

Where can I find help to solve this problem? Or is MacOS 12.01 the culprit and do I have to wait for an update from Apple?

I have always been able to access my stored passwords on Firefox but recently they have all disappeared. They are available on my phone browser but on the desktop browser the list is empty. Sync is working and it claims to have synced but the passwords are just not there.

A very serious bug in all Firefox browsers (it's been around for several years!). If you open multiple tabs (many tabs) in your browser, virtually all settings will not work, e.g. you won't open Options, Menus, various tasks, extensions, won't save your bookmarks, and many other problems. Although the browser opens a page and the Tab works! But everything else is NOT WORKING, even in Safe Mode or Troubleshooting Mode! I've reported this many times: No developer help! Windows 7 x64 Firefof Latest x64 version 20 GB RAM 4xCore CPU

A few weeks ago I noticed that browsing in Firefox started being slower / sluggish.

It usually happens in YouTube or Twitch, but can also happen while scrolling with the mouse in wikipedia for example.

Some examples: -When having a Twitch stream open, the stream is running fine, but when clicking and moving the volume slider on the player, it does not move smoothly, and with some delay. -When doing a bit more heavy browsing, sometimes a tab might get "stuck", for example, the twitch stream might start to buffer for a few seconds. I notice the buffering is not related to any bandwidth related issue. -Firefox reacts slower (or with a small delay) while moving between tabs, clicking on links, etc. This usually happens only after a few hours after launching and browsing with Firefox.

Most happen after a while since I launch Firefox. And by a while I mean maybe 2-3 hours, and I don't have a ton of tabs open. It becomes slower much, much faster than it used to in the past.

Now, sometimes it can take Firefox up to 30 seconds to close completely, before I can launch it again.

I had the same Extensions installed before these issues started happening.

I tried uninstalling Firefox completely, then manually deleting the remaining profile folder, and do a fresh install of the latest Firefox version.

I checked the Windows Task Manager, and it shows (14) processes under Firefox. Is this normal? I tried unticking the "Use recommended performance settings" and restarting Firefox, but it still reached (14) processes after a couple of minutes.


I am not sure if it is related to Firefox itself. My computer is 5 years old but functioning properly...

I did not check if similar issues happen on a different browser. I am just so used to Firefox.

I had a few weird bug in Windows 10, but those existed for a good while now, and are not similar to the ones I experience while browsing with Firefox. I didn't notice anything similar while watching video files in a Media Player.

I am not sure if it can be hardware related. All seem to be working properly...


I want to figure out what is causing this. If you need any more information let me know.
