Every time I manually update firefox, it reinstalls the automatic update malware "Mozilla Maintenance Service". I can't stop this malware from being installed with my browser every time I update Firefox. I call it malware because its not wanted, and it behaves like malware by secretly downloading content without my consent and then shutting down my browser when it finishes by blocking access to all new tabs.

I've tried adding policies to stop auto updates, but Mozilla Maintenance Service ignores all policies. I'm going to see if I can contact AVG and explain to them that Mozilla Maintenance Service is malware and see if I can get it classified as such to see if that'll finally get through to someone because I'm sick of this crap constantly being installed and forcing things on me whenever they want and not when I want.

Now after this update, every google search forces open my location service trying to force me to give location rights. This update is even more malware than all the other updates before hand. Firefox is getting extremely dangerous.

After Firefox update on my win 11 laptop, I had to reset my Firefox custom homepage and all my search settings and all my security settings. This should not happen. I did not lose my bookmarks or anything else.

The latest Snap update on my Kubuntu laptop is marked as a BETA version. I haven't selected the BETA stream. I like to keep track of changes at each install and there's no Release Notes available.

Is this an error at your end or do I need to change something to get back to a stable version?

Hi, I use Firefox version 154.0.1. The issue have been going on for years but Im so tired of it.

I have selected that Firefox shall update the browser even when firefox not running. But everytime there is a new update, I just open the browser as usual but it takes more time because not only does the startpage open, a new tab is open as well telling me the browser is updated. I just want it to open the start page, no more, is this possible?

Firefox updated automatically. It has lost my main window of 50+ tabs. What is worse I can't access any other programme though they are running as I can see with alt-tab.

I hate programs that automatically update. How do I turn this feature off permanently?

The browser has become very annoying to use and it keeps using a popup telling me to update! the problem is not the update in its self but when I allow it to do the update I can never find where it downloaded it to so I am plagued with this constant pop-up, I used to like Firefox but recently they got barred from Facebook messenger video calls.
