As compared to firefox6, this version, ff ver # 7.0.1 is very slow in opening the webpages. It takes a long time to show the webpage. I have tried to disable add ons and did everything i could, but there seems to be a no solution.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I am running LinuxMint and since upgrading FF to version 7.0.1 it has been pathetic. Very slow to open pages, crashing, freezing, hangs, etc. you name it. Are the developers working on it? I have enjoyed FF tremendously over the years but if it continues to give hassle I will have to consider an alternative browser. With Linux AVs and firewalls are not issues to be investigated, we don't need them!!!

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.

Try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.
