A simple question: How do I post hyperlink within a forum? I cannot figure this out.

I have forums (or threads) on a secure site through my school and all I want to do is post a link. Everyone else can do this, but the closest I can get is to cut and paste, but that's not a hyperlink. I'm just not seeing it.
