a weird issue with server blocking my IP address after failed email log ins without a failed log in.

Ok I have been fighting this issue for over a month now and hope there is someone that can help.

For an unknown reason my domain hosting service server keeps blocking my IP address. It gets blocked after a few failed IMAP log in attempts. Thunderbird is set to NOT check email on startup or to check email at XX min. Only way I get mail is to click on the get messages button. When it gets blocked I have to send an email to the hosting provider and they will unblock it for 24 hrs. Not long after the 24 hrs time is up, the IP gets blocked again by the server for failed log ins.

I do not have any issue checking mail while the IP is white listed for 24 hrs. No failed log ins, no time outs. Each time I click the button Thunderbird checks for mail with no troubles. While blocked I can get email using my phone as a hot spot, never gets blocked. I went a full week out of town and did not get blocked. The IP is not always the same that is blocked but it is the active IP I am using at the time.

I have scanned the computer with Norton and Spy Hunter 5 and did not find anything of concern. Should I look at another anti virus app?
